Installation from CD-ROM

When the Slalom Event Organiser for Windows CD-Rom is inserted into the CD-ROM Drive the installation Menu program should run Automatically (wait around 20 seconds for it to start). If the installation menu program does not start then double click on the \Autorun\Autorun.exe file on the CD to start the installation.

The following form is displayed:

Run the Installation Options in Order (top to bottom)

The top two Options, Install Part One and Install Part Two MUST be run to enable you to use the program.

Install the other three parts depending upon your requirements:

1.       Slalom Event Organiser for Windows Installation Part One - install in Demo Mode

2.       Slalom Event Organiser for Windows Installation Part Two - complete installation and license program.

3.       Install Slalom Results Display - this is run alongside the Slalom Event Organiser to provide the Remote      Leader Board function. Its default function is to send the Leader Board via the COM Port(s) to remote displays. It can display

4.       Slalom Windows Results Terminal - used as a Remote Display Terminal under Windows

5.       Slalom DOS Results terminal Diskette Creation - used as a Remote Display Terminal under DOS

Installation Errors:

1.       Errors on Windows 2000/XP install may  occur when registering Fonts, they may be ignored - but text on the displayed forms may be scrambled. This problem is probably due to the fact that you do not have Administrator authority. It is suggested that you logon again as Administrator and try the install again.

2.       If the Slalom Event Organiser starts in ‘Demonstration Mode’ then you need to run Install Part Two to register the program as a licensed copy.

Extra Programs on the CD:

1.       TClockex folder contains a clock program that once installed displays the Day, Date and Time on the right hand end of your Task Bar rather than just the time.

Just click on the \TClockex\trclockex.exe file to install it. This is a freeware product off the PCPRO essentials section of their free cover CD. It is simply as an additional useful tool.

2.       WINZIP folder contains the WINZIP install programs available in August 2002. These are evaluation copies and only the winzipnn.exe file needs to be installed to enable the Zipping of Web files.
